Hello,
I’m Gio Amati. Originally from Italy, I have lived in the UK for over 40 years. My journey into psychotherapy was shaped by my own life experiences. After three decades in the fast-paced corporate world, I chose to dedicate myself to my true passion: the complexities, emotions, and struggles that make us human.
My Story
I went back to study, dedicating eight years to training in Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy. I earned an MA and a Diploma from Middlesex University and BCPC, and I’m now a fully qualified therapist and registered member of the UKCP.
My work is all about creating a safe, supportive space where you can explore your emotions without judgment. I know how life’s challenges (whether anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence (ASD, ADD, ADHD), addiction, or relationship struggles) can feel overwhelming. But I also know that healing begins when emotions are allowed to flow, not get stuck.
That’s why I focus on real human connection. All my sessions are face-to-face because I believe genuine presence makes all the difference. I also work without medication as much as possible, helping you find balance and relief naturally, through understanding and emotional processing.
I understand that choosing the right therapist is an important decision, so I offer a free initial phone consultation, there is no pressure, just a chat to see if we’re the right fit. I also offer a limited number of low-cost spaces because I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone.
If you’re ready to take the first step toward feeling more in control, more understood, and more at ease in your life, I’d love to support you.
